IF CITY FORM OF GOVERNMENT HAPPENS, WILL WE HAVE BUYERS REMORSE?

EVEN IF THE CITY FORM OF GOVERNMENT IS CHANGED WHO WOULD SERVE ON NEW COUNCIL?
Yesterdays edition of the "Port Angeles Digest" I shared an article from the Peninsula Daily News with the headline: Port Angeles fluoridation foes file petition to change form of city government.

What I didn't mention in my editorial note, I signed that petition, in hopes that some common sense would prevail, and the four council members who voted in favor of continuing adding flouride would see the error of their ways, and at least one would change their vote, and support the will of the majority who voted in that so called citizen advisory poll against the practice. A poll I might add ended up being ignored. As for this ad hoc committee, that too ended up being a waste of time given the recommendation being offered. This tells me that the current council has grown deaf to the voice of the people who elected them into office. It appears they only want to listen to the voice of the people when it's election time.
My point here today, which I made mention in yesterday's posting, that given the current atmosphere, and the specter of having an ethics compliant filed against anyone who sits on the council, on a whim for any reason they can come up with, just out of spite or otherwise, who would want to even serve on the council, or for that matter any board given these ethic complaints being leveled. Have these who been passing around this petition which they filed this week thought of that? Who do they plan to have run for city council at this point?
Surely, they must have some people in mind? Then again would they even want to given the risk they too could face an ethic compliant on a whim. I really don't think anyone has really put some thought into this, and I fear this will end up harming the city's image even further in the long term. Another thing to consider in this if they dismiss the current council, and boot them all out of office, how long would it take to form a new one? Think on how that would effect the city's business, and items which are time sensitive, and a delay like finding a new council would hamper many of the contracts and agreements which are now before the current council.  Has anyone thought on that? I think we all will have a "buyers" remorse when it's all said and done.
