So those of you who wanted to start Socialism in this nation, you only need to look at these Socialist Democratic run states, and cities.

Inslee statement on historic re-election

Gov. Jay Inslee released a statement tonight as voters re-elected him, making him only the second governor in state history to be elected to three consecutive terms.

"Our state is a venerable place, from the Pacific Ocean to the Palouse and all places in between, where the world comes to marvel at our natural wonders as well as the accomplishments of our inimitably forward-thinking people. I cannot express the honor I feel to be elected to a third term as governor. The people of Washington have given my administration a unique place in history, and I will work hard for you every day, just as I have for the past eight years.

"COVID-19 has put our health and our economy through a crucible. We will continue to fight for Washingtonians’ health and economic well-being. I am deeply humbled by the opportunity to continue this crucial work.

"We still have much to accomplish together on other fronts as well: supporting frontline workers and first responders; continuing economic growth and recovery that benefits everyone; educating and training our students; fighting climate change; and continuing the fight for diversity, equity and inclusion.

"Tonight is a time for reflection and appreciation, but we can’t rest on our laurels. I will always fight for the people of Washington."

Inslee statement on continued ballot counting.

Gov. Jay Inslee issued a statement today as the country waits for votes to be counted.

“There was always a possibility we wouldn’t know who would win the presidency on election night. More Americans this year have voted early and by mail than ever before due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Those votes were legal, duly-cast and must be counted, even if it takes some time.

“Local election officials across Washington worked tirelessly to ensure this was a secure election and that every legal vote was counted – and there has been no information to suggest otherwise in our state or nationally.

“States control elections, not the federal government. We know that counting continues until every ballot is tallied. This is how elections have always worked and the process must be respected.

“I call on elected officials across the country, regardless of party, to stand up and protect the will of the voters. It may take time to count every ballot, but the voice of the American people is worth the wait.”

Editorial Comment:
