About the Publisher

Born in St. Albans Vermont in 1960 as Peter Jedware.
Adopted to the Ripley Family in 1974
Lived in Port Angeles Washington since then.

Marital status: bachelor (very single)

Political views: Moderate to Conservative.

Graduated Port Angeles Senior High in 1981

Religion: Christian (Church of Christ)

Studied at Peninsula College off and on after high school, never earned a degree. I learn more by doing than being brainwashed into liberal dogma.

My interest in publishing a news blog began actually by selling newspapers and magazines at one of the local shopping malls by operating a newsstand.
From there after my little stint working at the local Safeway store as "greeter" I started my first online publication known as the Port Angeles Journal. During that time I also ran for city council as well, and other runs for council after that time frame. I published the Journal for about 12 years, then stopped publishing anything for about two years. Then, in 2012 I started the current publication the Ripley Report, now recently changed to The Port Angeles Globe, I thought it was more appropriate because it's not just about my opinion on news events, it became more of a reflection of not only our little corner, but the world around us.

The Night Owl Comics, a publication of the Port Angeles Globe. Is a collection of stories written by Peter Ripley. I came up with the title of the page, because when I was younger I stayed up late at night. I don't do that anymore, but the sprit of the Night Owl lives on in the pages of the news blog. I fine it a good source of mental therapy keeps my mind focused.
