INSLEE STOKES THE FIRES OF ANTIMOSITY TOWARD COPS BY SUPPORTING CRTICAL RACE THEORY.

In our city of Port Angeles, we have a good police, and county sheriff departments. Rarely do you see news reports of bad cops committing crime here in Port Angeles WA.

After the verdict was announced regarding the Chauvan case in Minneapolis.

Inslee like a good democrat spent no time promoting this systemic racism theory nonsense: Claiming that all white people are a bunch of racist pigs! Especially cops!

(Note: Police force is a diverse agency, people from many races work to enforce the law faithfully) .

Inslee statement on Chauvin trial verdict

https://www.governor.wa.gov/news-media/inslee-statement-chauvin-trial-verdict

Gov. Jay Inslee released a statement today regarding the conviction of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin for second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the death of George Floyd.

"This was more than the death of one person. It was a trauma for George Floyd’s family, his children, the bystanders and indeed the entire nation. Weary families in so many communities, traumatized from images of brutality against Black and Brown people and feeling no power to stop it, can take heart today that justice was served in this instance. Yet, there is still much work to do. This is one step on a long journey we are just beginning.

"Today is a day for all to recommit themselves to a more perfect union, in their communities and in our nation. Let this be the beginning of progress rather than the end of one trial. Today’s sense of relief for some is fleeting. They know more must be done to prevent this from happening again and again. Too many live with this uncertainty. We must end systemic racism.

"In Washington, we are reforming independent investigations into police use of force; clarifying the requirements for tactics; increasing oversight and accountability for law enforcement officer conduct; and establishing better standards for permissible uses of force.”

"But ending systemic racism goes beyond our justice system.

"Our communities will not be at peace until everyone feels secure to do the most basic things. I’m talking about the right to vote. Or the right to get in the car and drive anywhere safely without fear of being killed. To walk down any street in America or go shopping at the department store without being selectively followed. To work regardless of what your hair or skin color looks like. To rent or buy a house in the neighborhood of your choice, or to get an insurance policy without being asked for a credit score. These ordinary activities must be available to all.

"We must remain proactive – from those of us in elected office to those providing services in our agencies – to turn the tide of injustice. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said 'the moral arc of the universe' bends toward justice, and it takes all of us to usher it into existence."

Editorial note: What is he implying here? What I am read from this that every cop in the state are a bunch potential screw ups! That can't do anything that is not racially motivated! So rules must change under the scope of this ridiculous systemic racism theory.  In other words put a bridle on police actions.

Where was Inslee last year when Seattle fell into chaos, with radical socialist groups like BLM, and Antfia took over parts of the city? He did nothing about it, by not doing anything he gave them placid approval! He gave no support to the  police there trying to regain control! Does this sound like a man who supports the police?

I like the idea the radio talk host Glenn Beck suggested on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE_3050PICE

That for two days that the police in these big cities go on strike, because of new laws being approved by the government that hampers them from preforming their duties, that is to enforce the laws.

I'll take it a step further, this should be done in all towns and major cities in the nation, that makes new rules that hampers them doing their jobs.

Racism is taught, your not born a racist!--Peter Ripley

AG FERGUSON: "THIS IS WASHINGTON’S MOMENT TO OVERHAUL A BROKEN SYSTEM AND END THE FAILED WAR ON DRUGS."

"This is Washington’s moment to overhaul a broken system and end the failed war on drugs. Criminalizing simple drug possession exacerbates racial disparities. Moreover, it continues our failed criminal justice response to a public health challenge. It’s time for a new approach. Public health problems require public health solutions — including making significant new investments in treatment that expand our current system. The Legislature now has a unique opportunity to reject criminal penalties for non-commercial drug possession. Let’s focus our resources on treatment and protecting the public from serious and violent crime."

Cleaning up: Boeing Auburn feasibility study.

Decades of study and progress

From 2002 to 2017, Boeing conducted detailed studies - called a remedial investigation - that we oversaw. These studies mapped the affected areas. By the end of the study, Boeing had installed over 300 wells to map and measure the TCE plume.

In 2005-06, Boeing conducted a cleanup on its property of an area with very high concentrations of TCE in groundwater. This cleanup slowed or stopped the spread of TCE outside of Boeing’s property.--DOE

Racial Justice Consortium Launched in Response to Supreme Court Letter

March 31, 2021

OLYMPIA – A Racial Justice Consortium has been established by the Washington judicial branch with a year-long mission to identify actions and structural changes that could help end racism and the devaluing of Black lives within the state judicial system. Consortium members held an inaugural meeting on March 26, 2021.

The Consortium came about in response to an Open Letter issued to the state legal community by the Washington Supreme Court on June 4, 2020, challenging members to look honestly at racial inequality within the justice system, and for all members to take active steps to end it.

“We continue to see racialized policing and the overrepresentation of Black Americans in every stage of our criminal and juvenile justice systems. Our institutions remain affected by the vestiges of slavery: Jim Crow laws that were never dismantled and racist court decisions that were never disavowed,” said the letter signed by all nine justices of the Court. “The legal community must recognize that we all bear responsibility for this on-going injustice, and that we are capable of taking steps to address it, if only we have the courage and the will.”--WA Courts/ dated in March

WASHINGTON STATE, INSLEE'S CHESS BOARD!

If you ever played the game of chess like I've done, you know how pawns are used. They are the first pieces of the game you use. I think Inslee, is using Washingtonians as pawns in his covid-19 phase reopening chess game!

The prime example of this, what happened this week.

When Inslee announced three counties had roll back to phase 2, because these counties didn't meet the Washington State Department of Health's health metricks. If your county doesn't meet their health metricks, your county can't advance to the next phase.

Inslee keeps rolling back counties that don't meet the DOH's health metrics! Clearly, it appears that Inslee wants we Washingtonians on this phase reopening covid chess board indefinitely!

The reason I keep harping on Inslee? Because he has managed using covid-19 as an excuse to take away our rights! The first amendment under Inslee has been abridged so many hard to keep track. I don't like seeing our lives, and rights being controlled by one man. If you want to look at this in a broader scope, I don't like the idea of our nation becoming communist state, which it is heading under the democrats!

Below are the related press releases from Governor Inslee, and DOH regarding the three counties that are now back to phase two.---Peter Ripley

Inslee announces three counties to rollback to Phase 2

Three counties failed to meet both Healthy Washington metrics required to stay in Phase 3

From the Governor's medium page.

https://medium.com/wagovernor/inslee-announces-three-counties-to-rollback-to-phase-2-19d2bde8b8ad

Gov. Jay Inslee today announced the rollback of three counties not meeting the Phase 3 Healthy Washington metrics for reopening activities.

The three counties returning to Phase 2 are:

Cowlitz County

Pierce County

Whitman County

“These metric trends are driven by the virus and we must continue to do everything we can to sharpen our focus and keep COVID-19 activity down. We are so close to the end of the tunnel here — we have made tremendous progress and we must keep our focus,” Inslee said. “It’s like a football game; we have done 95 yards on a 99 yard-drive. We can’t let up now. These are not punitive actions; they are to save lives and protect public health.”

“Vaccine is a crucial tool that will help us end the pandemic, but it isn’t the only tool, and we don’t yet have enough Washingtonians fully vaccinated to rely on this alone to keep our communities safe from the virus,” said Lacy Fehrenbach, deputy secretary for COVID-19 response, Department of Health. “We need to focus on lowering disease transmission in the next several weeks ahead as we continue our vaccination efforts in order to avoid a fourth surge of cases. This means wearing masks, watching our distancing and keeping gatherings small and outdoors.”

Last Friday, the governor announced updates to the Healthy Washington criteria:

In order to move down one phase, a county must fail both metrics for case counts and hospitalizations. Under the previous plan, a county only needed to fail one metric to move back a phase.

The spectator events guidance is updated to make clear what is allowed for counties in Phase 2 and how these events are related to school graduation ceremonies. That guidance is available here.

The Open Air Seating guidance is updated to allow flexibility for eating and drinking establishments. That guidance is available here.

The next evaluation of counties will be in three weeks, on May 3.

On Thursday, April 15, all Washingtonians (16+) will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccines. Combined with sustained mask usage, physical distancing and adhering to reopening guidance, increasing vaccination rates in all counties will hopefully help in preventing a rise in COVID-19 case numbers.

New COVID-19 cases over 14 days

A case is defined as a Washington resident with a molecular or antigen test that is positive for COVID-19. Cases are assigned to the date a specimen was collected for testing, called the specimen collection date.

Case data come from the Washington Disease Reporting System (WDRS). The most recent eight days of case data are considered incomplete as it takes up to eight days for the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) to receive 90% of reported cases.

Case Count: New COVID-19 cases over 14 days are counted by identifying the number of cases with a specimen collection date in a 14-day period.

Case Rate: New COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population per 14 days is calculated by dividing the number of cases with a specimen collection date in a 14-day period by the county population and multiplying by 100,000.

New COVID-19 hospitalizations over seven days

A COVID-19 hospitalization is defined as a Washington resident with confirmed or probable COVID-19 diagnosis who is identified as having been hospitalized through either case investigation OR linkage with Rapid Health Information Network (RHINO) records.

Hospitalizations are assigned to the hospital admission date in WDRS. The most recent 11 days of hospitalization data are considered incomplete as it takes up to 11 days for DOH to receive 90% of reported hospitalizations.

Hospitalization count: New COVID-19 hospitalizations over seven days are counted by identifying the number of hospitalizations with a hospital admission date in a seven-day period

Hospitalization rate: New COVID-19 hospitalizations per 100,000 population per seven days is calculated by dividing the number of hospitalizations with a hospital admission date in a seven-day period by the county population and multiplying by 100,000.

ICU bed occupancy over seven days

The statewide ICU bed occupancy is defined as the percent of staffed adult ICU beds in acute care hospitals in Washington that are occupied. ICU occupancy includes all patients in the ICU, not only patients with COVID-19.

The ICU bed occupancy is calculated by summing the occupancy over the seven-day period and dividing this by the sum of the seven-day capacity. The result is multiplied by 100. The data for this metric come from WA HEALTH. The most recent six days of data are considered incomplete as it takes up to six days for data collection, quality checks and reporting.

HOW CONVENIENT! A NEW VARIANT OF COVID-19 STRIKES WASHINGTON STATE, FROM THE UK!

I guess they didn't want people blaming the Chinese government for releasing this Covid-19 in the first place anymore. Now they come up with another scape goat, jolly old England! I suspect readers, this will be another reason to keep Washingtonians under the boot of Governor Jay Inslee's continued covid-19 regime. --Peter Ripley

Background info on variant: First Identified Cases of SARS-CoV-2 Variant B.1.1.7 in Minnesota — December 2020–January 2021.--CDC

On January 9, 2021, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) announced the identification of the SARS-CoV-2 variant of concern (VOC) B.1.1.7, also referred to as 20I/501Y.V1 and VOC 202012/01, in specimens from five persons; on January 25, MDH announced the identification of this variant in specimens from three additional persons. The B.1.1.7 variant, which is reported to be more transmissible than certain other SARS-CoV-2 lineages*,† (1), was first reported in the United Kingdom in December 2020 (1). As of February 14, 2021, a total of 1,173 COVID-19 cases of the B.1.1.7 variant had been identified in 39 U.S. states and the District of Columbia (2). Modeling data suggest that B.1.1.7 could become the predominant variant in the United States in March 2021 (3).

State seeing ‘significant surge’ of virus variant

Health officials encourage masking, distance--PDN

https://www.peninsuladailynews.com/news/state-seeing-significant-surge-of-virus-variant/

" Residents should continue to follow masking, social distancing and other COVID-19 prevention guidelines as the state moves closer to non-restricted vaccinations for adults, North Olympic Peninsula health officers said."

" It’s been estimated by state officials that 35 percent of new cases in the state during the past two weeks are from the more contagious U.K. variant (B117), which is also showing to cause more severe symptoms, said Dr. Allison Berry, Clallam County health officer."

Related press release from DOH:

COVID-19 data show concerning increases in disease activity

OLYMPIA – Today the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) released the latest statewide situation report on COVID-19, which shows increasing transmission and daily case counts. The trends highlight the need to continue prevention measures like wearing masks and maintaining physical distance while vaccination efforts continue.

https://www.doh.wa.gov/Newsroom/Articles/ID/2734/COVID-19-data-show-concerning-increases-in-disease-activity

Report findings include:

COVID-19 transmission is increasing statewide. Our best estimate for the reproductive number (how many new people each COVID-19 patient will infect) in Washington on March 19 was 1.38. The goal is to maintain a reproductive number well below one—meaning COVID-19 transmission is declining—for a substantial amount of time.

Statewide daily case counts began increasing in late March following a plateau in mid-February. The seven-day rolling average on March 26 was 915 new cases per day. There is some variation at the county level, but many counties saw increases in the two weeks ending March 25, including four of the five largest counties (Clark, King, Pierce and Snohomish).

The biggest increases are in younger people, who are less likely to be vaccinated and can still get very sick or die of COVID-19. The data show sharp increases in people ages 10-49, and shallower increases in children ages 0-9 and adults ages 50-69.

Hospital admissions remained flat overall over the first three weeks of March, but are increasing as of more recent, incomplete data. Looking at admission rates by age, previous declines are flattening out in people ages 40-59 (less likely to be vaccinated) and those 70 and older (more vulnerable to severe illness). There are also slight increases in admission rates for people ages 20-39 and 60-69.

The number of hospital beds occupied by confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients began to flatten or increase in mid-March, following previous declines. The number of ICU beds occupied by these patients began increasing gradually in mid-March.

Vaccination is helping protect people from severe illness requiring hospitalization. The report includes new analysis of the decline in hospital admission rates by age after the January 2021 peak. Admission rates declined faster for people age 60 and older—one of the first groups vaccinated—than among younger people. The analysis contrasts this pattern with declining rates after the August 2020 peak, when vaccines were not yet available.

“As we work to get more and more people vaccinated, our collective behavior still matters a lot. Right now, 80% of our state’s population is still susceptible to the virus, and we’re seeing increasing circulation of variants that spread more easily,” said Acting State Health Officer Scott Lindquist, MD, MPH. “This is particularly concerning when we’re already working from a higher baseline than we saw before previous waves. These restrictions won’t last forever, but they are still needed as we work to vaccinate more people.”

DOH is asking people to avoid crowds and wear masks in public regardless of vaccination status. If unvaccinated or living with someone at high risk for severe illness from COVID-19, wear masks when around anyone outside your household. Consider having fewer, shorter, smaller and safer gatherings. Gather outside or increase ventilation if you have to go indoors. Keep your distance, wash your hands frequently and get tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms.

THIS WEEK'S STATE NEWS HEADLINES:

Inslee updates high risk worker proclamation.

Gov. Jay Inslee today modified Proclamation 20-46 to allow employers additional flexibility to seek medical verification from employees and to shift employees to health coverage alternatives.

Leading the nation in protecting high-risk workers, Inslee initially permitted workers to self-attest to their medical status. With increased vaccination rates and increased provider capacity, this update allows employers to verify employees’ underlying health conditions.

Proclamation 20-46.3 will continue to maintain the core principles of the original proclamation:  workers who remain high risk will still benefit from job protection, access to alternative work arrangements, and eligibility for unemployment insurance and other forms of paid leave. Employers must provide employees with 14 days’ notice of any planned changes, which will give employees time to work with their medical provider to obtain verification and to seek health coverage through their employer’s COBRA plan, the Health Benefit Exchange, or private insurers.

BIBLE VERSE: Romans 5:6-8 (New King James Version)

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
