DON'T CRY WOLF WHILE HOLDING A $1400 CHECK FROM UNCLE SAM!

The US treasury rolled out the latest stimulus $1400 checks this week. Even though some hadn't gotten these funds yet. It is hard for me to be too critical of government over spending.

Those who already gotten their $1400 at the same time, while complaining about the government's over spending, while holding a $1400 check is hypocritical to say the least. If it was just the government sending out these check alone, has it should be, that's one thing, but the government giving these payments to illegal aliens, that's another!

As I said before, those of you,  who don't want that $1400 check,  I have a solution, give it to someone who needs it the most, or charity, church, or cause. Of course we all know that is wasn't just about these checks for $1400!  It was the pork spending added by the Democrats!

IRS, Treasury disbursed 90 million Economic Impact Payments from the American Rescue Plan.

IRS press release 3/17/21

https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-treasury-disbursed-90-million-economic-impact-payments-from-the-american-rescue-plan

WASHINGTON — Today, the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Bureau of the Fiscal Service announced they disbursed approximately 90 million Economic Impact Payments from the American Rescue Plan. As announced last week, Economic Impact Payments are rolling out in tranches to millions of Americans in the coming weeks.

The first batch of payments were mostly sent by direct deposit, which some recipients started receiving this past weekend. As of today, all recipients of this first batch of direct deposit payments will have access to their funds. Here is additional information on this first batch of payments:

These payments began processing on Friday, March 12. Some Americans saw the direct deposit payments as pending or as provisional payments in their accounts before today's official payment date.

The first batch of payments primarily went to eligible taxpayers who provided direct deposit information on their 2019 or 2020 returns, including people who don't typically file a return but who successfully used the Non-Filers tool on IRS.gov last year.

In total, this first batch included approximately 90 million payments, which are valued at more than $242 billion.

The use of direct deposit to issue these payments means that they are being delivered remarkably faster than would otherwise be possible.

While the majority of payments were delivered by direct deposit, which reach individual taxpayers more quickly than paper checks, Treasury mailed roughly 150,000 checks worth approximately $442 million.

Finally, since this past weekend, more than 35 million people have received their stimulus payment status through the "Get My Payment" tool on IRS.gov, which is updated on a regular basis as updated information is available.

Additional batches and payments will be sent in the coming weeks by direct deposit and through the mail as a check or debit card. The vast majority of all Economic Impact Payments will be issued by direct deposit. No action is needed by most taxpayers; the payments are automatic and, in many cases, similar to how people received their first and second round of Economic Impact Payments in 2020.

FACT SHEET: The American Rescue Plan Will Deliver Immediate Economic Relief to Families---US TREASURY DEPT.

https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/jy0069

The current public health crisis and resulting economic crisis have devastated the health and economic wellbeing of millions of Americans. From big cities to small towns, Americans – particularly people of color, immigrants, and low-wage workers – are facing a deep economic crisis. More than 9.5 million workers have lost their jobs in the wake of the pandemic, with 4 million out of work for half a year or longer.

The American Rescue Plan will change the course of the pandemic and deliver immediate and direct relief to families and workers impacted by the COVID-19 crisis through no fault of their own. This law is one of the most progressive pieces of legislation in history, and will build a bridge to an equitable economic recovery.

ECONOMIC IMPACT PAYMENTS

Through this third round of Economic Impact Payments, the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury Department) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) are ensuring that Americans will receive fast and direct relief during the final phase of the COVID-19 crisis. As of yesterday, approximately 90 million Economic Impact Payments had been disbursed, thereby ensuring that more than $242 billion of much-needed relief will be received by millions of Americans and their families within days of enactment of the American Rescue Plan. Unlike the prior rounds of Economic Impact Payments, the American Rescue Plan requires a 2021 “true-up” additional payment, when applicable, based on information (such as a recently filed 2020 tax return) that the IRS receives mid-year during 2021. This additional Economic Impact Payment will ensure that Americans and their families receive greater amounts of financial assistance during 2021, rather than waiting to claim a Recovery Rebate Credit on a tax return in 2022.

Those eligible will automatically receive an Economic Impact Payment of up to $1,400 for individuals or

$2,800 for married couples, plus $1,400 for each dependent. Unlike the prior rounds of Economic Impact Payments, families will get a payment for all their dependents claimed on a tax return, not just their qualifying children under 17.

Normally, a taxpayer will qualify for the full amount if they have an adjusted gross income of up to

$75,000 for singles and married persons filing a separate return, up to $112,500 for heads of household, and up to $150,000 for married couples filing joint returns and surviving spouses. Payment amounts are reduced for filers with incomes above those levels.

The Treasury Department and the IRS continue to expand outreach to the millions of homeless, rural poor, and other disadvantaged Americans to ensure that they receive Economic Impact Payments. This includes new and continued relationships with homeless shelters, legal aid clinics, and providing Economic Impact Payment information in more than 35 languages.

Gov. Jay Inslee today updated a proclamation related to consumer debt garnishments.

Proclamation 20-49, et seq., which generally prohibits garnishment for consumer debt in certain circumstances, is updated by replacing the specific reference to "federal stimulus payments" with "federal payments of any kind issued in response to the COVID-19 pandemic".

Somalia Should Hold Elections Immediately--US STATE DEPT.

https://www.state.gov/somalia-should-hold-elections-immediately/

" The United States is deeply concerned by the electoral impasse in Somalia, which is creating political uncertainty that threatens security, stability, and development in the country.  We call on Somalia’s federal and member state leaders to set aside narrow political objectives, uphold their responsibilities to the people of Somalia, and agree to immediately hold transparent and inclusive elections.

The current impasse undermines progress made to date, delays reforms urgently needed for Somalia to continue on the path to full debt relief, and hinders the fight against terrorism.  The United States supports the right of Somali citizens to protest peacefully and firmly opposes the use of violence by any party.  We urge Somalia’s leaders to safeguard the country’s future and find agreement to immediately conduct parliamentary and presidential elections."
