In March 2016 the secretary of health suspended the certified nursing assistant credential of Jacquelyn Jade Cary (NC60384139) for at least one year. Cary worked at an assisted living facility where she placed a wheelchair out of a dementia patient’s reach which isolated the patient to her bed and kept her from reaching the bathroom on her own. The state Department of Social and Health Services found that Cary mentally abused a vulnerable adult, and will not allow her to be employed in caring for or having unsupervised access to vulnerable adults.
