COUNTY TO GET PROGRESS REPORT ON CARLSBORG SEWER PROJECT

During the work session on Monday, the County will get a verbal report on the Carlsborg sewer project. It was this project that has stirred up so much controversy between the County Commission, and the County Treasure. The treasure as you recall last year didn't release the Opportunity Funds to grant both the City, and Port a grant from funds which were slated for Carlsborg project, to fund pet projects such as finishing the waterfront park which the city couldn't swing for on their own. Now according to news reports have blown more money by installing three wind turbines to light up the area. See headline from the Peninsula Daily News: Wind turbines generating regret; $100,000 turbines to create $1.39 in electricity daily (PDN)

Quote: They have not been activated because the city is involved in an inspection-related dispute with the manufacturer, UGE International Ltd. of New York City, Community and Economic Development Director Nathan West said last week. The turbines will power the 31 lights that illuminate the park, Deputy Power Systems Manager Shailesh Shere said last week.
Editorial note: I must admit I thought creating wind power energy may Help, I say help in making Port Angeles less reliant on buying our electricity from Bonneville. But how does this all related to the Carlsborg sewer project you may ask? It don't! They only thing here is that funds which were slated for the Carlsborg Sewer project through the Opportunity fund was given to the city as a grant from the County, far as I could make out on this entire story. Hence you had the on going melodrama between the treasurer, and commissioners. Nevertheless, the county will hear a report on the sewer project which is costing the county a pretty penny to complete which is in the millions.  This topic readers just reminded me of all the controveries surrounding this project that's all.
