THE PORT ANGELES DIGEST ( SECOND BOARD OF ETHICS FOUND ITEMS ALREADY COVERED UNDER CLAIM PRECLUSION)

The second board of ethics regarding Deputy Mayor Cherie Kidd code of conduct. Here was the public announcement of the meeting which was issued by the city earlier this week:
MEETING NOTICE
BOARD (2) OF ETHICS

Notice is hereby given that the Board (2) of Ethics will hold a meeting on Thursday, June 16, at 2 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 321 East Fifth Street.

I inquired about the results of the findings of the ethic (2) finding, through the city clerks office and since I wasn't there and here is a summary report they released:  The Board looked at four complaints.  They deemed three items were covered under claim preclusion. The fourth item, signs, was dismissed.  Staff will forward something to council. Now if you can shift through the legal lingo it sure sounds to me they dismiss it on grounds it did have double jeopardy in the complaint filed.

Quote from the article posted: " State law requires that the election be held at the next general municipal election in November 2017. But the City Council could vote to have it on the Nov. 8 ballot, Bloor said. The deadline for filing resolutions for the fall general election ballot is Aug. 2."

Editor's Note: Does anyone really think the city will vote for this be put on November's ballot? I have a hunch they will wait until 2017 to place it...anyone care to bet on that one?
