LOOKS LIKE INSLEE WILL CONTINUE HIS COVID-19 DICTORAL RULE.

While the presidential election is still not decided when this edition was published. Here in Washington State, we'll have another four years of Jay Inslee's Covid-19 rule! So those of you who wanted to start Socialism in this nation, you only need to look at these Socialist Democratic run states, and cities.

Inslee statement on historic re-election

Gov. Jay Inslee released a statement tonight as voters re-elected him, making him only the second governor in state history to be elected to three consecutive terms.

https://www.governor.wa.gov/news-media/inslee-statement-historic-re-election

"Our state is a venerable place, from the Pacific Ocean to the Palouse and all places in between, where the world comes to marvel at our natural wonders as well as the accomplishments of our inimitably forward-thinking people. I cannot express the honor I feel to be elected to a third term as governor. The people of Washington have given my administration a unique place in history, and I will work hard for you every day, just as I have for the past eight years.

"COVID-19 has put our health and our economy through a crucible. We will continue to fight for Washingtonians’ health and economic well-being. I am deeply humbled by the opportunity to continue this crucial work.

"We still have much to accomplish together on other fronts as well: supporting frontline workers and first responders; continuing economic growth and recovery that benefits everyone; educating and training our students; fighting climate change; and continuing the fight for diversity, equity and inclusion.

"Tonight is a time for reflection and appreciation, but we can’t rest on our laurels. I will always fight for the people of Washington."

Inslee statement on continued ballot counting.

Gov. Jay Inslee issued a statement today as the country waits for votes to be counted.

https://www.governor.wa.gov/news-media/inslee-statement-continued-ballot-counting

“There was always a possibility we wouldn’t know who would win the presidency on election night. More Americans this year have voted early and by mail than ever before due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Those votes were legal, duly-cast and must be counted, even if it takes some time.

“Local election officials across Washington worked tirelessly to ensure this was a secure election and that every legal vote was counted – and there has been no information to suggest otherwise in our state or nationally.

“States control elections, not the federal government. We know that counting continues until every ballot is tallied. This is how elections have always worked and the process must be respected.

“I call on elected officials across the country, regardless of party, to stand up and protect the will of the voters. It may take time to count every ballot, but the voice of the American people is worth the wait.”

Editorial Comment:

If that's the case maybe we need to besure your relection Governor was legit!

TODAY IS THE DAY AMERICA...IS IT FOR FREEDOM? OR SOCIALISM!?

For the record I cast my ballot in October, because the state mail the ballots then, thus early voting began. I voted for President Trump, and for Governor, Loren Clup. I want my nation to stay as it was founded, a Republic. Trump will fight against the socialist Democrats, like Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris will destroy this nation, and usher in Communism! Do we want our freedoms taking away? Secondly, I think lot of people in Washington state are fed up with Jay Inslee's tyrannical rule using covid-19 as excuse to implement his power!

TODAY'S TOP STORY...

Cantwell, Murray, Colleagues Demand Trump Administration End Plans to Withhold Funding for Critical Transportation Projects from Seattle, Other Cities

Letter comes as administration has threatened to withhold federal funding to punish cities where residents have protested for racial justice.

Press release issued 11.2.20

https://www.cantwell.senate.gov/news/press-releases/cantwell-murray-colleagues-demand-trump-administration-end-plans-to-withhold-funding-for-critical-transportation-projects-from-seattle-other-cities

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA), the Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and Patty Murray (D-WA) joined Oregon Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) and New York Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in sending a letter urging the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to ensure that Seattle, Portland, and New York City will not be excluded from federal funding for transportation projects. The letter comes in response to moves from the Trump administration to withhold federal funding from cities based on an arbitrary designation of “anarchist jurisdictions” in response to racial justice protests this summer. A September 2, 2020, memorandum from President Trump labeled Seattle, Portland, New York City, and Washington, D.C. as “anarchist jurisdictions” and directed the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) to review hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding to these cities.

An October 8th Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) from DOT’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for the Public Transportation COVID–19 Research Demonstration Grant Program stated that the agency “will review and consider applications for funding pursuant to this notice in accordance with the President’s September 2, 2020 memorandum.”

“Tying federal funds for local transit agencies to an arbitrary definition of ‘anarchist jurisdictions’ is of questionable legality and an appalling abuse of power, particularly in the midst of a deadly pandemic and economic recession,” the senators wrote in their letter to DOT Secretary Elaine Chao. “The COVID-19 pandemic has hit transit agencies particularly hard, and many face dire financial circumstances. We are disturbed by the DOT’s decision to potentially disqualify major American cities, including the home of the nation’s largest transit agency, from federal funding during this unprecedented time.”

To ensure that critical funding for critical transportation programs are delivered, the senators  requested that DOT explain whether the president’s September 2, 2020, memorandum will influence any DOT decisions regarding the granting or withholding of Federal Transit Administration funds, and whether the DOT plans to implement the president’s memorandum in any form. The senators also requested any internal memoranda, e-mails, directives, or communications explaining how DOT offices should implement the President’s September 2, 2020, memorandum and subsequent OMB guidance, as well as a list of all DOT funding opportunities that will be affected by this policy. This action follows Senators Cantwell and Murray’s previous condemnations of the administration’s dubious and potentially illegal scheme to withhold federal funding from Seattle following the summer’s racial justice protests, including their recent letters to the Department of Health and Human Services and the Environmental Protection Agency demanding additional details regarding how the agencies plan to implement the White House’s directive to withhold federal funding from Seattle and other cities designated as “anarchist jurisdictions.”

Madame Secretary:

On October 8, 2020, the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Transit Administration (FTA) issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) alerting local governments and transit agencies of the availability of the Public Transportation COVID–19 Research Demonstration Grant Program. We write in strong opposition to the inclusion in the NOFO of language stating that “the Department will review and consider applications for funding pursuant to this notice in accordance with the President’s September 2, 2020 memorandum, entitled Memorandum on Reviewing Funding to State and Local Government Recipients of Federal Funds that Are Permitting Anarchy, Violence, and Destruction in American Cities.”

President Trump announced this policy on September 2, 2020 “to ensure that Federal funds are neither unduly wasted nor spent in a manner that directly violates our Government’s promise to protect life, liberty, and property.” The policy further stated that “it is imperative that the Federal Government review the use of Federal funds by jurisdictions that permit anarchy, violence, and destruction in America’s cities.” In a September 21, 2020 memorandum, the White House directed the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the United States Department of Justice to review federal funding to state and local governments. This memorandum specifically targets Portland, OR; New York City, NY; and Seattle, WA. The October 8 NOFO notes that FTA “will review and consider applications for funding pursuant” to the White House memorandum.

Tying federal funds for local transit agencies to an arbitrary definition of “anarchist jurisdictions” is of questionable legality and an appalling abuse of power, particularly in the midst of a deadly pandemic and economic recession. The COVID-19 pandemic has hit transit agencies particularly hard, and many face dire financial circumstances. We are disturbed by the DOT’s decision to potentially disqualify major American cities, including the home of the nation’s largest transit agency, from federal funding during this unprecedented time.

We fear that this NOFO is simply the first public announcement of DOT’s implementation of President Trump’s politically-motivated memorandum. As such, we respectfully request the following information from your agency:

Will the President’s September 2, 2020 memorandum influence any DOT decisions regarding the granting or withholding of FTA funds to the above-named cities?

How does DOT plan to implement the President’s memorandum?

Additionally, we respectfully request any internal memoranda, e-mails, directives, or communications explaining how DOT offices should implement the President’s September 2, 2020 memorandum and subsequent OMB guidance, as well as a list of all DOT funding opportunities that will be affected by this policy.

Thank you for your consideration of this matter. We look forward to your prompt response.

President Donald J. Trump Is Supporting Hydraulic Fracturing and Other Technologies to Protect Our Jobs, Economic Opportunity, and National Security.

WH Fact sheet issued 10.31.20

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/president-donald-j-trump-supporting-hydraulic-fracturing-technologies-protect-jobs-economic-opportunity-national-security/

SAFEGUARDING AMERICAN JOBS: President Donald J. Trump will continue to defend the jobs and interests of American workers in energy and other key industries.

President Trump is fighting misguided attacks on hydraulic fracturing (“fracking”) and other innovative energy and natural-resources technologies.

Due to public calls to ban or restrict such technologies, the President has directed his Administration to assess the potential effects of such bans or restrictions on American citizens.

The Administration will assess the potential consequences of fracking bans – such as job losses – on Americans who are directly or indirectly benefiting from the energy industry and other industries, including mining for sand and other minerals.

The President wants to protect these jobs and help out-of-work Americans who are seeking good jobs.

No responsible public official should sacrifice vast numbers of American jobs and livelihoods to appease domestic radicals and curry favor with foreign powers.

SECURE AND AFFORDABLE AMERICAN ENERGY: President Trump will continue to ensure Americans have access to dependable, affordable energy to power their homes, cars, and lives.

In 2019, the Council of Economic Advisers estimated that fracking and other innovations had reduced energy prices and saved Americans $203 billion per year, or $2,500 each year for a family of four.

These savings disproportionately benefit low-income households, who spend a large share of their incomes on energy.

Banning or restricting such technologies would increase the prices of gasoline, electricity, heating, and air conditioning.

These increases would greatly harm senior citizens, middle- and lower-income Americans, and others on fixed-incomes.

In addition to assessing the potentially devastating effects of fracking restrictions on American jobs and workers, the Administration will assess potential effects on consumers, property owners, local governments, schools, hospitals, and medical clinics.

PROTECTING OUR NATIONAL SECURITY:  President Trump will continue to put America First and will guard United States national security through energy independence.

Reliable, affordable energy is essential to our Nation’s well-being, our economic strength and global competitiveness, and our national security.

The President is opposed to misguided policies that would take us back to the days of vulnerable dependence on foreign oil and natural gas.

As a result of the President’s continued push for energy independence and new technologies, our country recently became a net energy exporter for the first time since 1952, with American energy exports reaching an all-time high last year.

The United States is now the world’s leading producer of both oil and natural gas.

Crude oil production set record highs both last year and the year before, leaping past the previous record set in 1970.

The Trump Administration has increased exports of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) by nearly five-fold and has issued more than 20 long-term authorizations for LNG exports.

LNG exports are reducing the trade deficit by $10 billion each year and are on pace to reduce the trade deficit by $30 billion per year by 2030.

·At the same time, America is a world leader in clean air and in reducing energy-related CO2 emissions.

Our Nation’s air quality has improved by 77 percent over the last 50 years, including 7 percent under President Trump.

In 2019, the United States had the largest absolute decline in energy-related CO2 emissions of any country in the world.

Through his strong leadership and common sense policies, President Trump has proven that energy production and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.

Inslee announces technology investment for Washington students and staff

$24 million in Coronavirus Relief Funds has been allotted to purchase the technology.

https://medium.com/@WAStateGov/inslee-announces-technology-investment-for-washington-students-and-staff-9a10a05a9a25

Gov. Jay Inslee today announced the allocation of $24 million in Coronavirus Relief Funds to purchase approximately 64,000 computing devices for students across the state. These devices will enable students to receive their education in the new COVID-19 remote learning environment. The first shipment of 20,000 devices is expected in the coming weeks.

“Having their own device is vital to students and staff participating and succeeding in distance learning,” Inslee said. “The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown challenges at every Washingtonian, especially working families and students — having the proper equipment to navigate their new educational reality shouldn’t be one of those challenges.”

At the beginning of the 2020–2021 school year, more than 95% of students in Washington began the year in remote learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, according to the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the nine regional educational service districts, approximately 64,000 students and school staff statewide do not currently have their own computing device or tablet.

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, the current manufacturing and global supply chain for computing devices is limited. Many districts that have devices on order have had their delivery dates pushed to six weeks, three months or more. And some districts just simply don’t have enough CARES Act or local funding to make all the purchases necessary. Bulk procurement on the part of the state will help to bring devices to Washington more quickly — and at a lower rate.

Devices must meet the needs of students and local districts, provide adequate technical specifications, and be available in the near-term at a competitive price. Due to the source of funding, devices must be received before the end of the year.

“With most of our students learning from home right now, one critical need has been access to technology,” said Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal. “Since last spring, school districts across the state have deployed hundreds of thousands of laptops and tablets to students so they can learn remotely. I’m grateful to the governor’s office for their partnership as we continue to close the digital divide.”

While having a device is necessary to participate in distance learning, connectivity to the internet also poses a barrier to participating in remote learning. To help meet this need, OSPI has allocated $8.8 million in CARES Act funds to buy internet plans for 60,000 families who cannot afford them. In addition, the state has set up more than 600 WIFI hotspots across Washington, with the governor reviewing proposals to further speed up the state’ path to universal broadband connection.

The governor, along with Educational Service Districts and OSPI, will work to identify which districts will receive the first shipment of devices in early November.

Editorial note: If it weren't for the Covid-19 Inslee wouldn't have the funding to do this. So, I ask do you think Inslee will do what it takes to keep Covid-19 to stick around as long as possible so he can continue getting funding?

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

Cantwell Condemns Election Interference and Misinformation Online, Calls for Increased Efforts to Protect Democracy & Public Health

Press release issued 10.28.20

https://www.cantwell.senate.gov/news/press-releases/cantwell-condemns-election-interference-and-misinformation-online-calls-for-increased-efforts-to-protect-democracy-and-public-health

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, at a U.S. Senate Commerce Committee hearing with the CEOs of Facebook, Google, and Twitter, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA)\, the Ranking Member of the committee, condemned election interference and disinformation online and highlighted the importance of supporting efforts to stop such interference and to push back against COVID misinformation and disinformation, as well as the proliferation of online hate.

Senator Cantwell said, “I believe that we should be working aggressively internationally to sanction anybody that interferes in our elections…It is no secret that there are various state actors who are doing all they can to take a whack at democracy, to try to say that our way of government, that our way of life, that our way of freedom of speech and information, is somehow not as good as we have made it being the beacon of democracy around the globe.”

Cantwell also pushed back on the timing of the hearing and called out the escalating wave of election misinformation online, saying: “So I want to make it clear that this hearing could have happened at a later date. And I don't appreciate the misinformation that is coming across today that is trying to undermine our election process…I am not going to let or tolerate people to continue to [attack] our election process, our vote by mail system, or the ability of tech platforms, security companies, our law enforcement entities, and the collective community to speak against misinformation and hate speech. We have to show that the United States of America stands behind our principles and that our principles do also transfer to the responsibility of communication online.”

Cantwell also stressed the benefits of mail-in voting, a system which her home state of Washington has used successfully for many years.

“I’m not going to take lightly anybody who tries to undermine mail-in voting. Mail-in voting in the United States of America is safe. The state of Washington, the state of Oregon have been doing it for years.”

Cantwell cited how during the 2016 election, Russian operatives, masquerading as Americans, used targeted advertisements, intentionally falsified news articles, and manipulated social media platform tools to interact and attempt to deceive tens of millions of social media users in the United States.

In her questioning with witnesses, Senator Cantwell asked Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg what his company is doing to stop the threat of foreign interference in U.S. elections. Mr. Zuckerberg replied, “Since 2016, we've been building up some very sophisticated systems to make sure that we can stop foreign interference in elections, not just in the US, but all around the world. And a lot of this involves building up AI systems to identify when clusters of accounts aren't behaving the way that a normal person would. They’re behaving as fake accounts in some coordinated way… we've taken down more than 100 networks that were potentially attempting to spread misinformation or interfere. A lot of them were coming from Russia or Iran, a growing number from China as well.”

State safety rest area workers honored for keeping freight moving and travelers safe during pandemic.

Gov. Inslee's press release issued 10.29.20

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted nearly every facet of daily life over the past eight months. While this time has been challenging, Washingtonians have met it with resilience and determination to listen to science and keep the virus under control. It has also shined a light on Washington’s frontline heroes, such as state maintenance workers, who have continued working every day to make sure rest areas are clean, open and safe through it all.

Rest area crews from the Washington State Department of Transportation kept working in the field as essential workers during the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order. They also increased the frequency of their cleaning to help keep travelers safe. This meant cleaning all 45 year-round state rest areas at least twice a day.

At the most heavily used sites along I-5, I-90 and I-82, all touch points, such as door handles, faucets and handrails, were cleaned every two hours. Crews also worked repairing the rest areas to keep them open and in good working order.

Inslee issues directive to ensure continuity of benefits for school staff.

Press release issued 10.30.20

https://www.governor.wa.gov/news-media/inslee-issues-directive-ensure-continuity-benefits-school-staff

Gov. Jay Inslee today issued a directive to the Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) to issue an emergency rule regarding continuity of pension benefits for school district employees continuing to experience work disruptions as a result of remote learning.

Benefit continuity is critical to employees’ eligibility for assistance through Shared Work operated by the Employment Security Department, a tool used to retain employees who are necessary for schools to reopen as students resume in-person education. This order also directs Employment Security to include DRS' forthcoming emergency rule in their evaluation of eligibility for the Shared Work Program.

The directive is effective immediately.
